92 Points | Wine Enthusiast - "This 1974 planting comes across as the more tart and acidic entry among the 2019 Rieslings from Brooks. Sharply defined flavors of lemon, pineapple and apple give the wine texture and depth, with balancing acidity. A light hint of lemon verbena trails out the finish.”

– Paul Gregutt
The nose jumps from the glass with aromas of Meyer lemon, a touch of orange peel, peach, saline, pears, jasmine and white flowers. Succulent mouthfeel with delicious, mouthwatering acidity.

Lemon pie with preserved lemon and vanilla bean paste. Made, of course, with a buttery flakey crust.

A consummate standout in our riesling lineup, the 2019 Brooks Estate waxes poetic with key lime pie, meyer lemon zest, tangerine and subtle honeyed notes. Great acid and minerality drive through the heart of the palate, creating a wine that should age gracefully for years to come.

Winemaking Notes

A wet, but warm spring with a few mild frosts during late April and fewer than average heat spikes.
Near-record precipitation amounts during late June and early July brought increased disease pressure to the region.
The vintage will be remembered for the early rains in September and rapid cool down into October which challenged harvesting decisions. The cool vintage came largely from substantially lower maximum temperatures while minimum temperatures were near average to slightly above average.
