Flavor Notes

95 Points | James Suckling - "This stunning pinot noir has a wide-screen bouquet of ripe strawberry, licorice and forest floor. Concentrated and elegant with an uplifting freshness, this is a very impressive, medium-bodied Oregon pinot noir. Very long and precise, mineral finish. From the high altitude Hyland Vineyard, where the vines grow on volcanic basalt soil. Drink or hold."

Bursting with red fruit notes with an old-world elegance, refined tannins and a savory, charcuterie finish.
Sommelier

This Pinot Noir would be divine with roasted duck confit with a cherry demi-glace and fondant potatoes.
Culinary Director

A delicious pinot noir from a late vintage with a beautiful fall, the 2021 Little Sister effuses cherry compote, rhubarb, and fennel salami. The palate is soft and lithe, with savory herbs, juicy cranberry and wild strawberries, and a succulent saline finish.

Winemaking Notes
2021 Vintage:
Rain events at the beginning of bloom diminished yields, and a dry summer was punctuated with unprecedented heatwaves. The timing worked in our favor since the heat happened pre-veraison, and the vines handled it well.
Harvest started in early September, but lower temperatures across the state allowed for a long and measured harvest season, with harvest extending into mid-October.
No disease, high sugars, balanced acids, and great flavors. 2021 will undoubtedly rank as one of the top Oregon vintages.
