2021 Terue Tempranillo

A beautiful new world expression of Tempranillo. Full-bodied and deeply concentrated with rich, palate-coating notes of fig, black olive, blackberry, and plum.

Comprised of Tempranillo grapes from the Deux Vert vineyard located in Yamhill-Carlton. The vines were planted in 1998 in marine-sazelair, peavine, and willakenzie soil.

Only 60 cases produced!

Brooks has it all — Great story, great people, great wines.

Dave McIntyre, Washington Post
A delicious, full-bodied red with notes of black and blue fruits, black olive and fig. A nice alternative to Pinot Noir when you feel like something bigger.
Jillian Barnhart
Sommelier
Pair this with a flank steak smothered in chimichurri, caramelized onions, and fire roasted bell peppers.
Josh Forkner
Culinary Director
A bold and fruit forward tempranillo from the Yamhill-Carlton AVA, the 2021 effuses dark figs, blueberry compote and ripe plum. On the palate, dark cherry meets dense and chewy tannins making this a superb companion for grilled meats.

Winemaking Notes

Rain events at the beginning of bloom diminished yields, and a dry summer was punctuated with unprecedented heatwaves. The timing worked in our favor since the heat happened pre-veraison, and the vines handled it well.

Harvest started in early September, but lower temperatures across the state allowed for a long and measured harvest season, with harvest extending into mid-October.

No disease, high sugars, balanced acids, and great flavors. 2021 will undoubtedly rank as one of the top Oregon vintages.
