Pepper Crusted Tuna

Ingredients

  • 2 limes (juiced)
  • cup cilantro (rough chop)
  • tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 pinch white sugar
  • 2 cloves of garlic (grated)
  • tsp garlic (minced)
  • 1 tsp ginger (grated)
  • serrano pepper (thinly sliced)
  • 2 8oz pieces of tuna
  • tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 cup snow peas (blanched)
  • 1 avocado (thinly sliced)

Directions

  1. In a bowl, combine the cilantro, ginger, grate garlic, lime juice, soy sauce and serrano. Mix well.

  2. Season the tuna with salt and pepper.

  3. Heat a sauté pan with olive oil. Gently sear both sides of the tuna until golden brown, about 1 minute per side. Remove from the heat and let rest.

  4. In a small pan, heat the butter and the minced garlic. Add the snow peas and cook for 30 seconds, or until warm.

  5. Place the snow peas and sliced avocado on a plate with the tuna on top. Drizzle the dressing over the top of the fish. Enjoy!
